The old town of Jerusalem is still a moving place in spite of the tension which reigns there, especially during the days of Succoth (Tabernacles). Israel dances with eternal joy. The old city is full of so many contrasting and different cultures. The Jewish quarter, the best organized and where the Orthodox Meashea

rim are hurrying towards the Wailing Wall, The Christian quarter crossed by the celebrated Via Dolorosa. The Armenian quarter, with its market stalls and chapels. The Muslim Quarter with its shops, its stalls and souvenir se

llers, its strong smells spices and roast meat…It is in the Muslim quarter, alongside the old walls, just two steps from the Lion Gate, that we find the Domary Gypsy community.

According to Moktar Abdel hakim Selim (the recognized leader of the Domari community) there are more than 400 Gypsies living in the old town of Jerusalem. About 200 families of Domari also live in the Eastern Muslim qu

arters of the new city.

For the 2-3000 Domari and Nawar Gypsies who live in the Gaza Strip the situation is catastrophic. Hardly any aid reached them and they suffer discrimination. They aremostly unemployed and have no access to education or hospitals.

We envision evangelizing the Domari Gypsies and we are in the process of negotiating with the Orthodox Patriarchs the possibility of renting a place that they own in the Muslim quarter to hold meetings there. The task is not easy. The Gypsies in the old town, even though they are Muslims, suffer rejection by Muslims. But they are, if only a little, recognized by the Israeli authorities, as a national minority.

So far a few Domary have been contacted by Christians and have accepted the Gospel, but there is much more to do. Amoun Selim, a young Domari about 30, has created an association to help families find education and cultural activities amongst Gypsy women.

In 1967, after the 6Day War, over 40000 Domari Gypsies, fled Jerusalem and left to rejoin their families in Jordan. Evangelism of Gypsies in Israel will open doors for evangelism in Jordan and Egypt. ROUMANIA

Thanks to the help of a Christian association we have been able to send the children from our Children’s Home of Tergu Mures to a holiday camp. This has made an unforgettable experience for all the kids.

We have many worries for those involved in running the home, the Romanian government has become more and more demanding and we are obliged to have staff that reaches European normsand standards. All these demands raise the running and social workers’ costs. Life in Romania is as expensive now as it is in France. It appears, at least for the authorities, our work over the year’s counts for nothing, and that if we cannot continue to support the finances of the children’s home, they would prefer the children to return to the streets. We receive no encouragement from the state, or any of the public services involved with us, but the bills still rise each month.

The misery, the living conditions, the total absence of hygiene, the absence of work, the mal-nutrition, the racism and discrimination are the reasons why the Gypsy people in the Eastern countries are leaving their home countries and coming to Western Europe. Please help us to provide for the monthly running cost of the children’s home and activities.

ROMANIA or the history of the sufferings of a people

1. THE SAD PERIOD OF SLAVERY

For the Gypsies in Romania, it all began in the 13th century. As free men the Rom arrived in Valachie and in Moldavia. Very rapidly, the Valaques and Moldavians Lords began to reduce the Gypsies to slavery. Landowners, princes and Monasteries had taken severe actions in opposition to the Rom. Then, many already tried to flee toward the west. Others, in face of the cruelty, fled to hide in the Carpates Mountains. It is under the reign of Rudolph IV (1331 – 1355) that the first stories on gypsy slavery were discovered. The ROMs were then registered as being the Noble’s ownership, the Monasteries clergy and the landowners. But, it is under the reign of Basil le Loup (1634-1654) that a law concerning the slaves’ gypsies is issued. In 1500 the Romanian term “Gypsy “becomes synonymous of “Rob“who means slave. During that period we could classify the Gypsies slaves in different categories: the slaves of peasants, houses, nobles, monasteries and of the church

The law of Valachie cites the following articles:

 The Gypsies are born slaves

 All children born of a mother slave is slave

 All landowners have the right to sell or give his slaves

 All gypsies without landowner are the property of the prince.

 The legal marriages cannot be done between the person free and slaves

 The marriages between slaves cannot be done without the consent of the landowner.

 The courthouse, according his or her age, condition and profession, must fix the price of the slave.

The Gypsies are sold and bought at the slaves' trade fair. In the 19th century the price of a slave was, in general, the value of a gold coin per kilo without consideration of familial ties.

" It was not rare to see, in the streets, some human beings with feet and hands chained, some of them having iron rings around their neck, they were whipped, deprived of food, kept naked in the snow or in the freezing rivers. The wife taken away from her husband, children taken away from their parents’ arms and were sold to the four corners of Romania “. (Citation of Kogalniceanu, 19th century)

In the 19th century, we could count over 400 000 gypsies slaves. Some rebelled and made gangs. It was not until December 23rd 1855 that the gypsy slavery became illegal in Moldavia and February 8th 1856 in Valachie. But it was not until 1864 that slavery and bondage were definitively abolished in Romania. But sadly, yet today, in the mind of many Romanian the gypsies are always seen as suspicious characters.

2. THE WALK OF SHAME

After this sad period of Gypsy slavery, the sufferings of the Rom kept on and from the very beginning of the 20th century, it all began to get worst again. In the 20’s the economic situation deteriorate in Romania. An atmosphere of racism develops in the country. Some pogroms against the Jews and the Gypsies begin to appear in divers’ cities. “We must fight against the Gypsy peril of genetic poverty of the Romanian people “(Ion Facaoaru partisan of Ritter’s Nazis thesis)

In 1941 the Transnitry was annexed to Romania and in the same year was decided the sterilization of Gypsy women. In Mai 1942 Ion Antonescu, chief of government, orders the census of the Rom population, 208 700 gypsies are accounted. In Transnitry, on June 1st began the deportation of the Rom nomads. The orders were given to not inform the Rom of their destination.

“In one week they were 15 000 to arrive. They were in a pitiful misery, they were many elderly persons, and some of them were naked“ tells a witness.

On September 12th, 1942 the deportation of the sedentary Gypsies began. Men, women and children were deported and put on the train. They are authorized to take only one luggage. Everything else is confiscated (houses, lands, cattle…). The raid for the ROMs sedentary lasted eight days. All was done without any consideration and with violence. Only the families of those who are soldiers were kept off deportation. In Transnitry the conditions of life are disastrous: famine, cold and typhus were making ravages. Those who try to evade are killed. Some are completely naked even during winters. It is estimated up to 35 000 the number of Gypsies who died in deportation.

If Romania has since little recognized its part in the responsibility in the deportation and the death of more than 300 000 Romanian Jews, it has never wanted, until this day, to recognize its responsibility in the deportation and the death of 35 000 Gypsies. Ion Antonescu, chief of the government at that time, is, yet today for certain Romanian, a national hero but he is for all the ROMs a war criminal with on his hands the Gypsy genocide.

More recently in 1965, after Nicolae Ceaucescu came to power, he confiscated all the jewels and objects of value from the Rom families. 80% of the children of the “orphanages mouroirs (same place where old people were left to die)” were Gypsy children and it can be evaluated to 50 or 60% the rate of mortality due to the conditions of life in these establishments: minimum of care, aids epidemic, hepatitis and cholera provoked by the material of transfusion none sterilized.

3. SINCE THE REVOLUTION

After December 1989, which saw the fall of the dictator Ceausescu, began a period of racism and “anti-Gypsism “. Since then, a campaign of anti-Rom is manifested in all Romania. Some pogroms are caused: on December 24th 1989, in the city of Virghie, two Gypsies are assassinated and houses are burnt; in Turulung, 36 Gypsy houses are set on fire on January 11th 1990; January 29th, 5 houses are set on fire in Reghin; in Lunga, January 5th, four ROMs are assassinated and six houses burnt; in Adereni, in 1993, 4 died and 14 houses burnt; in Sabolciu, March 13th about fifteen men armed with baseball bats have attacked a Gypsy neighborhood without any reasons and on May 8th 2002, 200 soccer supporters have attacked a Gypsy area of Bucharest in screaming : “ the Gypsies, out of Romania “ etc….On the 13th and 15th of June miners arrived in Bucharest suppressa manifestation anti-Iliescu and go to a Gypsy camp in the area, the camp is burnt, the men are beaten and the women raped while the police remained watching and indifferent.

Police violence’s, municipal police the sole purpose to chase the ROMs out of town, segregation in the school and at the employment, discrimination to the access of cares and social helps, newspaper articles and televised news presenting the Gypsies like delinquents. Some slogans posted regularly translate the anti-Rom propaganda “Death to the Gypsies or the Gypsies out of Romania “.

We can understand better the distress of this people and the reasons pushing them to flee a hostile country where racism exists yet today at the doors of Europe. There are between 3 to 4 million Gypsies in Romania and all we have done until this day in the domain of education, health, training, protection and health for the children is minute, but we keep hope that the situations can change especially thanks to the Gospel and we will continue our efforts to improve the conditions of life of these people rejected and despised.

Cette année encore, nous avons eu la joie d’avoir notre école biblique session 2009 qui s’est tenue dans les environs de Moscou où une trentaine de participants venus de différentes régions de Russie, Sibérie, Ukraine, Moldavie se sont retrouvés pour une semaine bénie autour de la parole de Dieu. Nous avons eu le plaisir d’avoir la participation du frère Grégory Montes, du frère John Brayer des USA, des frères d’Angleterre, Nino et Jacky, et des frères Roms de notre église de Paris. Ce fut un temps béni dans la communion et l’étude de la parole.
Again this year, we have had the joy of having our Bible School which is held near Moscow where about 30 people came from all different regions of Russia, Siberia, Ukraine, Moldavia and found themselves for a week being blessed by the Word of God. We had the pleasure of having the participation of brother Gregory Montes, of brother John Brayer (USA), of the English brothers, Nino and Jacky, and of the Rrom brothers from our church in Paris. This made for a blessed time in fellowship and in the study of the Word.

Depuis quelques mois des tziganes de cette ville ont commencé à participer aux réunions dans l’église locale et Dieu a fait une œuvre merveilleuse. Des baptêmes ont eu lieu et deux fois par semaine, un bus est mis à la disposition de la vingtaine de Roms qui participent aux réunions.
For several months some Gypsies from this town have started taking part in the meetings in the local church and God has done a marvellous work. Some baptisms took place and twice a week a bus brought in about 20 Rroma who took part in the meetings.

Le nom de cette ville du Caucase, à la frontière de la Tchétchénie, rappelle encore le souvenir terrible de cette prise d’otages qui eut lieu en 1995. Plus de 5000 personnes furent enfermées dans l’hôpital de la ville par 200 terroristes tchétchènes conduits par Chamil Bassaev. Prise d’otage qui se termina dans un bain de sang et fit 128 morts. Les traumatismes ont laissé des séquelles profondes dans les familles qui ont vécu ce drame. Les Tziganes de cette ville n’ont pas étés épargné mais Dieu dans sa miséricorde fait une œuvre merveilleuse parmi eux. Plusieurs ont accepté le Seigneur et participent aux réunions. La même tragédie s’était passée le 1ier Septembre 2004 à Beslan où il y eu plus de 365 morts dont 189 enfants et plus de 700 blessés, dans l’école prise en otage par Bassaev.
The name of this town in the Caucasus, on the border with Chechnya, recalls again the terrible event when the hostages were taken in 1995. Over 5000 people were trapped in the town hospital by 200 Chechnyans lead by Chamil Bassaev. The hostage’s capture ended in a blood bath with 128 dead. The trauma left in the aftermath are deep in the families who lived through this drama. Th Gypsies of this town were not saved but God, in this misery, did a marvellous work among them. Several accepted the Lord and now take part in meetings. The same tragedy took plae on the 1st of September 2004 at Beslan where there were over 365 dead, including 189 children and over 700 wounded, in the school taken hostage by Bassaev.

Valodia est un jeune père de famille qui, il y a 8 ans avait reçu, de la main d’un pasteur local, une des vidéos que nous avions envoyées dans toutes les villes de Russie. Il fut touché par le message enregistré et accepta le Seigneur et se fit baptiser. Il commença à témoigner autour de lui et 18 personnes de sa famille se convertirent à Jésus Christ. Aujourd’hui Valodia est un prédicateur Tzigane qui évangélise son peuple dans la région de Rostov. Plus de 30 personnes nouvelles participent aux réunions.
Valodia is a young father of a family who, 8 years ago, was given, from the hand of a local pastor, one of the videos that we had sent to all the towns of Russia. He was touched by the recorded messageand accepted the Lord and got baptised. He started to witness around himself and 18 members of his family were converted to Jesus Christ. Today, Valodia is a Gypsy preacherwho evangelises his people around Rostov. Over 30 new people take part in his meetings.

Toute notre famille est artiste et, pour la plupart, nous travaillons dans le théâtre Tzigane de Moscou. Nous avons des contrats internationaux. Mais bien vite ma vie fut un enfer, l’alcool, la drogue, la débauche et finalement ce fut le divorce. Je ne trouvais plus la joie de vivre. Ma femme se convertit et suivit les réunions dans notre église Vie et Lumière de Moscou. Avec beaucoup de curiosité, je me rendis un jour à l’église pour voir ce qui s’y passait et je fus touché par la parole du Seigneur et ma vie a commencé à changer. Après quelques mois, j’acceptais le Seigneur comme mon Sauveur et passais par les eaux du baptême. Ma vie a complètement changé, nôtre foyer est de nouveau réuni et je sers le Seigneur en composant des cantiques et en chantant dans notre chorale.
All our family are artists and, for the most part, we work in the Gypsy theatre in Moscow. We have international contracts. But very quickly my life became a living hell: alcohol, drugs, debauchery and finally a divorce. I found o joy in my life. My wife got converted and followed the meetings in our Life & Light church in Moscow. With great curiosity, I took myself one day to the church to see what was going on, and I was touched by the Word of God and my life began to change. After a few months, I accepted the Lord as my saviour and went through the waters of baptism. My life has completely changed, our home is newly reunited and I serve the Lord by writing songs and singing in our choir.

Un été bien chargé avec les enfants de la « Casa de Copii… »
A Summer in charge of the children of the ‘House of Friends’
Cet été les enfants de notre orphelinat de Tergu Mures n’ont pas eu beaucoup le temps de s’ennuyer… Les voisins de la maison d’enfants vous le confirmeraient de part le bruit et les rires qui ont égayé tout le quartier durant ces deux derniers mois ensoleillés. Les enfants ont découvert de façon récréative mais aussi pédagogique combien il est bon d’avoir Jésus pour ami. Un jour, ils ont « habillé » la cour de l’orphelinat de drapeaux, de guirlandes, de fresques pour un repas champêtre confectionné par nos petits chefs !
This Summer the children of our orphanage at Tergu Mures did not have much time to get bored. The neighbours of the children’s home would tell you how much the noise and the laughter have brightened up the whole neighbourhood during the last two months of sunshine. The children found out, in an amusing but also educational way, how great it is to have Jesus for a friend. One day they were ‘dressing’ the courtyard of the orphanage in curtains, garlands, pictures for a country dinner made by our little chefs.
Au mois d’août, nos petits héros ont pris la route d’Ibanesti, un village perdu dans les jolies collines de la Transylvanie pour une semaine de camp « de survie » dans la nature et la tranquillité. Appuyés sur le verset de Hébreux 11 v 16, ils ont été encouragés à fuir les tentations de ce monde, en ayant en vue que notre cité n’est pas d’ici-bas mais qu’elle est céleste et a venir. Les enfants y ont passé 5 jours de pur bonheur et d’aventure et tous ont hâte de pouvoir y retourner. En attendant l’été prochain, nous réfléchissons déjà à un éventuel camp d’hiver à l’occasion des fêtes de fin d’année, où les enfants pourront retrouver les joies d’un Noël dans une ambiance familiale et féerique.
In the month of August, our little heroes took to the road to Ibanesti, a village lost among the pretty hills of Transylvania, for a weeks ‘survival’ camping in nature and peace. Supported by the verse Hebrews 11v16, they were encouraged to flee the temptations of the world, and keeping in sight that our city is not here below, but is in heaven and is to come. The children spent 5 days having fun and adventures, and all hated the idea of coming back. Whilst witing for next Summer, we are thinking already of eventually having a Winter camp during the festivities at the end of the year, where the children could rediscover the joys of Christmas in an enchanting family atmosphere

Thankyou to all those who, to this day, continue to keep us in their prayers and by their offerings have evangelised the Gypsy people throughout the world. Millions of Gypsies across the world have never heard the wonderful message of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. The times are short and we wish to put everything into the work to win the most we can for Christ.

A WITNESS AND REPENTANCE OF GYPSY D.S.PRAKASH

I am D.S. Prakash belongs from an orthadox Hindhu family. I worshiped Dhurga and I other Hindu Gods and used to drink the sacrificed baffalo's blood. It is our ancient traditional system of animal sacrifice in performing pooja to Hindu Lor and God " Dhurga" .

My father used to escavad human corps from the built grounds for human skills Hunting and all types of cheating business. He used to sale it at Tibet. He got two wives. I am the eldest among his issues. So I am forced to follow my father to do all religious activities as priest descendent from ancestor in my family.

Though I am a chief preist, I have no peace of mind. Jesus Christ, who chosen me from my mother's womb called me at the age of 21. I was baptised in 1990. But my family members planned to kill me. But my savior never left even a hair of my scalp to fall on earth.

I was very eager to convey to every body about my past experience, and the taste of his glory. God sent me to take train as a pastor for one year at Maharashtra. ( a state in India )

Since from 1996 I begun to do full time ministry with pleasure. I commited to do service among my Gypsy people.

Tamilnadu

At Avadi in a small Thatched roof church especially builted for Gospel,

Previously my community people used to earn money by hunting birds and animals. Now a great change has came among them after the influence of our God. Now they are doing small business like flower Garlends making, Beads of chain etc. and stopped the collection of waste paper. Now they are sending their children to schools and other institutions. I initially shared only 12 children now I am proud above 50 children and scoring good makes also. Some of intellectual poor children going far private tuitions for their inteletual improvement still few not yet going more them 85 families living in their own hunts ration cards also allotted to than.

Andhrapradhesh

A congregation gathered together out of 40 families of our community. The children of 95 of the believe going to school, and some other going to private tution. There are work than 60 children in the congregation in Pastor. paulraj look of them.

Karnataka

There are more than 150 families in the congrigation. Thirty children are going to private school and rest more than 200 children not going to school. Bro. N. Kalasha working as a pastor there.

I am pastor. Prakesh D.S , with my wife Mrs. Pavithra and with my three children doing God's ministry. I am taking care of the above States Tamilnadu, Andhra, and Karnataka's ministry work and look after the well being of the Pastors conmcerned and their families. Anyhow, Our Lord do some sort miracles in our life to live happily with what we have and what we had. Praise the Lord.

So, please pray for me, and my Community to be blessed and prosper in our activities to be well improved please pray far the families who still 60 families worship, to trust in our Lord to see glory of God.

- They donot know to dress up properly and move along with other society people.

- Only 10% of the people are educated and improved in their civilization.

- For the past 12 years we are staying in Chennai (Avadi) T.N . But in October 2008 Our 42 Resident and Churches were demolished by the state Government, we were now in road side we dont have a right place for workship and stay, we have given a pitietion to collector and superior authority till now no responsence. here our 100 children's education are effected and no fees has been paid so far due this our Gypsy ministry is effected. till now no Government have taken any response to support this community. Pentrenant Bible College 2009

We only had eight students this time but, as the old saying goes, quality is better than quantity. I was actually more encouraged by this session than by any in the past, and I'm now daring enough to consider expanding what we do. I'm afraid to say that in times past most even found 1 month too much to bear, and it was seen as a test to prove that each man really wanted to be a minister. As such it was a price they paid to join the ministry team. All that negativity has melted away, for this bunch seemed to love it, and would even have done more, which opens the door for us to do more in the future. The ideal would be to have more short courses, not longer ones because 1 month away from their families is enough for any man, but we did have fun winding Jo Boswell up to think that we had extended the college time. Everyone pretended to be really upset, throwing cases across the room, and Jo very kindly tried to calm them down and spoke to us on the QT to tell us how he had encouraged them and brought order back to the students, preventing an all out rebellion, that might have cost us our lives: "They'll do it, Gerry, but they won't be the same - don't expect anything good from them." The look on his face as they all told us how pleased they were that they were staying longer ('Hypocrites!' if you could read his thoughts!). See the video:

After he had beaten me up (actually he tried to kiss me but I wasn't having that so he turned nasty) he eventually calmed down but I don't think he'll ever trust us again. He started a theological question about liars entering the kingdom, but we drowned him out with the national anthem:

Please pray for the success of our plans for more college courses. We are also considering separating the academic training (theology) from the spiritual, so we might drop the lectures from the month away in Wales and just make it worship, praying and fasting. Then get another place where the men could pull the trailers (with wife and kids) for 5 day courses for academic and ministry studies, once or twice a year. This is the way forward.

Report on inspection visit to Tuger-moras Orphanage Romania

Visit conducted by; Joe Mitchell

Date; 12^{th –}15^th August 2009

Background

Reports of unsatisfactory conditions and treatment of children were made by a member of the public to Shane Lee and Davy Jones at Willenhall Church. As a result after discussion with elders of the Mission, I decided to visit the orphanage unannounced to see first hand what the current conditions were and to determine whether there was any substance to the allegations.

It is viewed as important that conditions and treatment are beyond reproach, not just for the welfare of the children, but for the Mission too – any negative publicity, whether true or not would have a detrimental effect on the giving of funds, commitment to the orphans and the external view of the Mission.

Summary

The details are further in this report, but I found the conditions to be exceptional. The orphanage was clean and tidy, the children seemed happy; they were well fed and dressed and there was no sign of any abuse, physical or otherwise.

This is substantiated by:-

Reports from the doctor and nutritionist
As observed by me during the visit
Witness reports from a husband and wife (school teacher and judge) who have lived opposite the orphanage for some 5 years. They regularly visit the orphanage and indeed their children both play there and invite friends from the orphanage to play at their house

Recommendations

No mistreatment was observed and the orphanage appears in good order, supervised by skilled and caring staff. However as a Mission we have a duty to ensure that it remains so and I would suggest that in addition to organised visits to the orphanage that we ensure that unannounced inspections are carried out 2 times a year by an appointed elder. This should not be the same elder each time so that we can ensure that we are getting a clear view

Any and all claims of mistreatment should be seriously regarded and investigated by the Members of the Mission as a priority. Should a claim warrant inspection, an elder should be appointed and visit the orphanage as soon as possible and without prior notice.

Blackpool Baptisms

Most of the recent converts from the Blackpool outreach were baptised, and it is looking likely that there will be a permanent church there soon. Bimbo Taylor, who started it and is running it with Jimbob Bodgewell, will be accepted as a minister by the mission at the convention this month.

RUSSIA: SIBERIA

A quick phone call before leaving and the brother who is receiving us tell us that the temperature in Siberia is now mild. When I arrived at the airport of Novosibirsk the thermometer showed still -20°. When I asked the brother, he answered me smiling “it’s normal because this winter we had up to -57° and -20° it’s nearly spring for us”
Many Gypsies live in this area of central Siberia, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Barnaul are towns which are all near Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
The Gypsies of Siberia had heard about what God was doing in the area of Moscow and in our church of: Tula, it is in this way that several non-gypsy pastors of the area saw coming in their churches some Gypsies desiring to hear the word of God. Some meetings were organized in the houses and the Lord began to work in the hearts of those opening to the preaching of the Gospel. Several accepted Jesus as their Savior and a wonderful work is being done among these people in this area far removed of Oriental Russia.

BIBLE SCHOOL

We will have during the month of June our next Bible school session where about fifty gypsy students will received the teachings of the Word of God. Some will come from Siberia, Ukraine and Moldavia, the area of Moscow and the town of Tula.
We are rejoicing of the progress of the work in Russia and the former Russian countries.
The travels are difficult and the conditions insecure but it is encouraging to see the lives changed by the power of the Gospel. There are still thousands of Gypsies who have not had the privilege to hear the wonderful message of the Gospel.

We have good news of our workers in Ukraine and Moldavia and we rejoice to see the work of God continuing to go on by our pastors in Central Asia. The Lord changes the lives and adds to the church those who are saved. Acts 2:47

Middle East: Lebanon and Syria

It was after the request from a pastor of Damascus that the brothers E. Kowalski and C. Lust, pastors of the French Assemblies of God (ADD) associated with me to go to Lebanon and Syria to meet the Gypsies and to begin a work of evangelization.
In Lebanon the stress is yet perceptible among the different factions (groups) Shiites and Sunnites, between the Hezbollah and the Maronites Christians and the insecurity remains. Although Lebanon is on the way to reconstruction and things are changing rapidly.
The few Evangelical Christians live under the pressure at the same time from the Muslims communities and the Maronites Christians who are opposed to the spreading of the Gospel.
From Afghanistan to Libya and passing through Iran, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, and Egypt over 3 million Muslims gypsies are living there, the Domaries(musicians) the Kurbatis(dentists) the Nawars( seasonal workers)the Zotts, the Zargar(jewelers) the Kutchis and Koulies, etc….
All these Gypsies are of Muslim denomination and they are either Sunnites or Shiites practicing more or less faithfully Muslim. Many still live under the tents in the area of cities or in specific areas with great amount of Roms live. Many are living in great poverty and are suffering, sadly, of racism and discrimination.
In several towns the gospel is announced to the Gypsies and our experience in the evangelization of these people is of great help.
In many countries, God moves by his Spirit with power among the Muslims and many souls are turning to Jesus-Christ. For security reasons, we can not give too many details and must keep under silence the places and the names of the brothers with whom we are collaborating for this missionary field which are in these countries.
In one town north of Syria a pastor has begun to evangelize the Gypsies. He is teaching how to read to the children and the young adults. Several have accepted Jesus-Christ as their Savior. Pray for this brother and for the Gypsies in this area.
Providing education among the Nawars in the north of Syria

In Israel, at the foot of the walls of the old city of Jerusalem, there is a gypsy church where the “Domaries” gather to praise and bless the beautiful name of Jesus.
I will return very soon in Syria and Lebanon to bring my help to the evangelization of the 800 000 Gypsies of which 400 000 live in Syria, 60 000 in Lebanon, 350 000 in Jordan. The doors are opening also in Jordan
To the contrary of Muslim, the Faith in Jesus-Christ brings peace and makes us to discover a God of Love of whom the Koran does not reveal to us. The God of the gospel is a God who forgives and offer in his Grace, freely, the eternal life in Jesus. Muslim, in the contrary, pushes men to win their salvation in practicing works to conform themselves to the constraints of five pillars of Muslim:

1/Obedience to the precepts of Muhammad the prophet
2/the five prayers daily mandatory
3/the strict fast of Ramadan
4/pay the “Zakat “ either the tithe or charity
5/ Execute the “Hajj” (pilgrimage to the Mecca).

Through all that, the Muslims have no assurance of their salvation. But Jesus said: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life and will not be condemned “John 3:36 & 5:24

The Muslims of the entire world go in pilgrimage to the Mecca to meditate on the tomb of their venerated prophet Muhammad. In Jerusalem, the tomb of Jesus is still emptied since 2000 years, but what makes the difference is that our Savior is alive and risen.

Les enfants de notre centre de Tergu Mures ont fait une expérience inoubliable. Au mois de septembre nous avions quelques difficultés pour couvrir le budget et nous avions engagés les enfants à prier le Seigneur pour qu’il nous aide à pourvoir aux besoins du centre. Dans la ville d’Oradea à 300kms au nord de Tergu Mures un grand chirurgien était collectionneur de perroquets de grande valeur.
The children of our Tergu Mures centre have had an unforgettable experience. In September we had many difficulties in covering our budget and we encouraged the children to pray to the Lord in order that he might help to suppy the needs forthe centre. Inthe villageof Oradea, 300 km north of Tergu Mures, a great surgeon had a collection of parrots of great value.
Un de ses volatile s’échappa et le collectionneur fit passer une annonce promettant une récompense de 1000 € à celui qui lui ramènerait l’oiseau rare. Alors que nos enfants jouaient dans la cour de l’orphelinat ils virent se poser un étrange oiseau aux multiples couleurs et le recueillirent. Les responsables du centre regardant la télévision apprirent que le propriétaire offrait une récompense et se mirent en contact avec le chirurgien qui vint récupérer le perroquet et offrit la récompenses à l’orphelinat, il offrit aussi aux enfants deux petits perroquets de moindre valeur. Ce cadeau venu du ciel permit d’acheter du bois de chauffage pour l’hiver qui venait à grands pas.
One of these winged creatures escaped and the collecter made an announcement that promised a reward of 1000€ to whoever should return the rare bird. When our children were playing in the courtyard of the orphanage they saw a strange multicoloured bird land and they gave it shelter. The managers of the centre watching the TV learned that the owner had offered a reward and got in contect with the surgeon who came to recover the parrot and offered the reward to the orphanage, and also offered the children two parrots of lesser value. This gift, sent from heaven, allowed us to buy fire wood for the winter which is upon us.

Ce mois de décembre, après une collecte faites dans les Eglises Vie et lumière d’Angleterre, une équipe de 3 frères, avec une camionnette chargée de jouets, sont venus dans notre centre pour apporter des cadeaux à tous nos enfants et distribuer de l’aide humanitaire dans plusieurs villages pauvres.
This December, after a collection made in the English Life & Light churches, a team of 3 brothers, with a van full of toys, went to our centre taking presents to our chldren and handing out humanitarian aid throughout the poorest villages.
C’était émouvant de voir tous nos petits et grands les yeux écarquillés de bonheur recevoir autant de cadeaux. Pour nous remercier les enfants avaient préparés un programme de chants et de mimes qui nous fit passer une soirée inoubliable dans le Seigneur.
It was touching to see all our little ones, and how wide the eyes were at the good fortune to recieve such presents. To thank us the children had prepared a concert and some miming acts which made an evening unforgettable in the Lord.
Nikou, un de nos grand garçon, qui n’était qu’un petit gamin abandonné de 5 ans quand il est entré dans notre maison d’enfants et qui est âgé maintenant de 16 ans, se prépare à entrer dans un lycée technique. C’est pour nous encouragent de voir ce jeune homme, dont l’avenir n’aurait été que la misère et la rue, réussir et se préparer à un avenir tout différent grâce à votre soutien.
Nikou, one of our big lads, who was abandoned when only a little boy of 5 years and came into our house of children, but is now 16 years old, and is preparing to go to technical college. It encourages us to see this young man, for his future was only misery and rebellion, thriving and preparing for a future completely different, thanks to your support.

Nous avons eus la joie de nous rendre à Penza à 700 kms à l’est de Moscou ou une nouvelle œuvre a commencée parmi les Tziganes de cette région. Une cinquantaine de personnes suivent les réunions. Un jeune homme qui était atteint de leucémie a été complètement guéri par le Seigneur après la prière et cela a été une grande bénédiction pour toutes ces familles qui ont décidés de suivre les réunions. Un pasteur sédentaire local a mis son église à la disposition des Tziganes et les aide à grandir dans la foi et dans la connaissance de la parole du Seigneur.
We have great joy to tell you that at Penza, 700 km east of Moscow, a new work has started among the Gypsies of that region. About 50 people are following the meetings. One young man who was struck by Leukemia was completely healed by the Lord after prayer, and this was a great blessing for all these families who had decided to follow the meetings. A local settled pastor offered his church to the Gypsies and helped them grow in the faith and in knowing the word of God.
La conversion de ces familles et leur témoignage de vies transformées a eu un grand impact dans le village et beaucoup donnent gloire à Dieu pour Son œuvre parmi les Tziganes.
The conversion of these families and their testimonies of transformed lives has had a big impact in the village and many are giving glory to God for his work among the Gypsies.

Depuis l’inauguration de notre église en Juin dernier nous avons été encouragés de voir l’œuvre de Dieu progresser et de nouvelles âmes accepter le Seigneur. Une mission permit de rassembler une foule nombreuse et plus de 200 personnes assistèrent aux réunions. 70 à 80 personnes suivent régulièrement les réunions et les 4 responsables Pano, Rusland, Alek et Arthur se partagent le travail organisant des réunions d’évangélisations, de prières et des réunions pour les femmes et les enfants.
Since the opening of our church in last June we have been encouraged to see the work of God progress and new souls accept the Lord. A mission allowed the gathering of a crowd numbering over 200 people present at the meeting. 70 to 80 people attend regularly and the 4 leaders Pano, Rusland, Alek and Arthur, share the work of oranising evangelistic meetings, prayers and womens’ and childrens’ meetings.

In the great town of Moscow, thanks to the support of local settled churches who have graciously offered us the use of their premises, we continue to evangelise the Gypsies and our leader Valodia, works courageously. New souls are coming to the Lord and at each meeting we see the hand of God moving.

In all these towns the work progresses well, and our teams carry on by the grace of God to evangelise and the Lord confirms his word by wonders and miracles transforming lives and adding to the church daily those who are being saved.

My name is Sharon Fitzharris I was born into a practising Catholic family.I would go to mass regularly and I would say the rosary every day at 3 o’clock and then I would go to the pub on the weekends and I would go robbing up the town everyday, I was always swearing and swearing on my children’s life’s, taking the lords name in vain and I thought being a roman catholic was the only and best religion and I thought everyone else was wrong.About 14 - 15 years ago Christians came and told me about Jesus and I believed that they had found some new religion because I always believed that English people didn’t have a religion I thought I was it and they didn’t even get married or have their children christened so I looked down on them, I noticed one thing every time they told me about Jesus that they taught me from the bible.I always owned a Bible but even though I could read I didn’t understand one word of it. I asked the brothers and sisters to show me what they had told was in my bible and it was, then I knew this was god and not just man, I started listening and David Jones said to me you must be born again I am a roman catholic I’m pleased you have found a religion but it’s not for me and he said I used to be an altar boy and then I said to him and what are you now and he said I’m a born again Christian and I said shame on you. So he said would you not give your heart to Jesus and I said yes I will who better could I give it to, so he said can I pray with you and I said yes, but his prayers meant nothing to me and I just kept saying I’m giving my heart to you Jesus and I really meant it.My life carried on as before I didn’t fully understand the decision I made but slowly I got convicted of the things I done, I would cry and I didn’t know why and I would tell my children to get the things I’d robbed and throw them in the bin. Then there was a mission and me and my husband Tony both gave are hearts to the lord.We both continued to grow with the lord and after about 9 – 10 years my second oldest son was 22 years old and was brutally murdered by a Caribbean man, me and my husband wasn’t in the England at the time we were at my cousin’s funeral in Ireland and someone told Tony and no one never told me they told me my son Pa was ill, it took hours and hours to get home and it was the worst journey of me and Tony’s life when I got to the hospital there was crowds of people and the police was there and they took us in to see him and I had the shock of my life because I wasn’t expecting it I have been through many trials in my life but this was definitely the worst it was a nightmare of nightmares. I touched my son’s head and the police took my hand away and told me I can’t touch him because he had been stabbed in the head, when we come out all my people was trying to get me and Tony to the pub so when we wouldn’t go they got take outs of drink and fetched them to us and said you have to have a drink to help you sleep, so I told the people I don’t need a drink I need Jesus now more than ever, because god had took all desire of drink out of my life about 10 years ago now. W e couldn’t bury my son because we couldn’t find the killer and when the police came out I told them I don’t care if they never caught the man if your gonna catch him catch him for someone else sake before he does to another family what he has done to our’s. I give the police the scripture john 3 v 3 and said to him can you tell this man who’s done this that I forgive him and give him this scripture, the police said that they would definitely give him. When all this was going on god was speaking to my heart and telling me that I must show mercy for me to receive mercy and I live in the hope that my son had mercy too as my son was baptised and grew up as a Christian all his life. Jesus was my comfort all through this I could feel his very presence with me he never left me or forsake me, I never went to the court appearance in the old bailey that lasted about 3 months because I didn’t want to see the man’s face.The man received mandatory life, which means he will never be freed, I pray for this man to receive Jesus into his life. THE PREHISTORY (ORIGINS) OF THE GYPSIES.
Nous avons relaté dans un de nos numéros précédent « la longue marche d’un peuple » l’histoire de la diaspora Tzigane depuis leur départ de l’Inde « Hodu » en Hébreux, plus précisément de la vallée de l’Indus appelé en ancien Persan « Sindh » (mot qui pourrait être à l’origine du mot « Sinti » qui désigne une tribu Tzigane). Cette thèse des mille ans de l’histoire Tzigane est établie par les tziganologes jusqu'à nos jours. Mais leur préhistoire et leur parcourt avant leur arrivée en Inde reste un mystère.
In one of our previous issues we told you about « The Long Journey of a People » which was the history of the Gypsy « Diaspora (literally « Seeding », their Scattering around the world) » since they left India, from, to be precise, a place that is called « Hodu » in Hebrew, the Valley of the Indus River, which the Ancient Persians called « Sindh » (a word that might be the origin of the name « Sinti » which is the name of a Gypsy tribe). Most gyptologists (those who study the Gypsies).think of Gypsy history as only being 1000 years old. However, Gypsy Pre-History and their journey before their arrival in India remains a mystery.

There are a number of similarities between the Gypsies and the Jewish People, which may be interesting to consider.

Could there be a real historical link between the history of the diaspora (scattering) of the Jewish people and that of the Gypsy people ?
Les Tziganes seraient t‘ils des descendants de tribus nomades déportées et exilées qui auraient vécus aux cotés des tribus d’Israël qui furent elles-mêmes déportées par les Assyriens et les Perses, dont certaines jusqu’en Inde?
Could the Gypsies be the descendants of nomadic tribes deported and exiled who were taken out alongside the tribes of Israel who were themselves deported by the Assyrians and the Persians ? Could some of these then travelled as afar as India ?

Je n’ai pas l’intention, au travers de cet article, de répondre à ces questions mais plutôt de nous interroger sur le parallèle étonnant qui existe entre les Tziganes et le peuple d’Israël dans leur diaspora.
Within this essay I do not intend to answer all these questions, but maybe we could ask ourselves about the astonishing parallels which exist between the Gypsies and the People of Israel - their diaspora (scattering across the globe).
Il est historiquement évident et reconnu par les tziganologes que les Tzigane on quitté l’Inde Il y a environ 1000 ans après un séjour de quelques centaines d’années et que leur langue, en grande partie, trouve ses racines dans le Sanskrit Indo Aryen. Mais peut-on en conclure que les racines seules de la langue d’un peuple sont suffisantes pour définir l’origine ethnique d’une population ? Il y a tant de faits qui contredisent l’origine Indienne du peuple Tzigane.
It is historically evident and recognised by gyptologists that the Gypsies left India 1000 years ago after a stay of some hundreds of years, and that their language, for the most part, finds its roots in Aryan Indian Sanskrit. But can we be conclusive about their origins - are the roots of their language alone enough to define the ethnic origin of the whole race ? Some incidental facts contradict the theory that the Gypsies come from India.
Que penser de ces populations Juives de « Kachin, B’ney Israël et Baghdadis » vivant en Inde, déportées par les Perses ou que penser des « Pathans » qui vivent au nord de l’Afghanistan, au Pakistan et au Cachemire, ou encore de ces tribus juives « Chiang Min » découvertes récemment en Chine, ou des « Karens » de Birmanie ? Ces populations sont aujourd’hui reconnues comme descendantes des 10 tribus du royaume du nord d’Israël déportées depuis 722 Av JC par le roi d’Assyrie Sargon II. Ces « enfants de Manassé, d’Ephraïm, Ruben et autres... ont pour la plupart perdues la langue hébraïque et parlent le « Malayalam » le « Marathi » ou autres langues locales avec un certain mélange de Persan. Malgré cet éloignement de leurs racines pendant plus de2300 ans, ils ont toutefois gardés quelques traditions, lois et pratiques, qui permettent de les identifier avec certitude au peuple Juif. Leurs traditions d’origine biblique sont toutefois moindres que celles pratiquées à nos jours par les Rrom, les Sinti et les Gitans.
What should we think about the Jewish populations of « Kachin , B’ney Israel and Baghdadis » living in India, deported by the Persians ? What should we think about the « Pathan » who live in the North of Afghanistan, Pakhistan and Kashmire ? Again, what about the Jewish tribes « Chiang Min » discovered recently in China, or the « Karens » of Burma ? These groups are now recognised as descendants of the ten tribes of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, deported in 722 BCE by the Assyrian king Sargon II. These « children of Manasseh, Ephraim, Reuben and others » have mostly lost their Hebrew language and speak « Malayalam », « Marathi » or other local languages with particular Persian words mixed in. Yet they have still kept a few traditions, laws and practices, which allow us to identify them as definately Jewish, even though the time span since they were exiled is huge : 2300 years. Furthermore, their traditions, which have biblical origins, are similar to the practices of the Rrom, Sinti and Gitan Gypsies, even to this day.

In Nehemiah 7v61 to 69, when they returned from exile during the reign of Cyrus, 642 people among the priests could not prove their genealogical entitlement on their father’s side, nor their race to prove that they were really Jews.
Peu t’on dire que tous les Juifs dans le monde parlent l’hébreux et pratiquent le Judaïsme?
Can you say that all the Jews in the world speak Hebrew and practice Judaism ?
Il existe en Iran des milliers de Rrom « Zargar et Kutchis» qui parlent une langue Tzigane très proche du Romanes parlé par les Rrom d’Europe et de Russie. Que dire des tziganes « Dom » qui vivent depuis des générations en Israël et dans tout le moyen Orient ?
In Iran there are thousands of Rroma « Zargar » and « Kutchis » who speak a Gypsy language very similar to the Romanes spoken by the Rroma of Europe and Russia. We should also look at the « Dom » gypsies who have lived for generations in Israel and throughout the Middle East ?
On retrouve au sein du peuple Tziganes des différences morphologiques, culturelles et linguistiques entre Rrom, Sinti, Gitans, Zargar et Dom semblables à celles qui existent entre les juifs « Sépharades » (de Méditerranée) et les Juifs « Ashkénazes » qui parlent le Yiddish et viennent du Nord de l’Europe .
Between different groups of Gypsies there are morphological, cultural and linguistic differences. Rroma, Sinti, Gitan Zargar and Dom have differences just like those which exist between Jewish groups like the « Sephards » (from the Mediterranean) and the « Ashkenazi » Jews who speak Yiddish and come from Northern Europe.
Il suffit de se rendre en Israël pour s’apercevoir de la mosaïque ethnique de juifs du monde entier, blond, brun, noirs etc.… au faciès oriental ou au large visage slave.
Suffice it to say that this has made Israel look like a mosaic of ethnic Jews from around the entire world. Some have blond hair, others brown or black. Some have oriental features, yet others have large Slavic faces.
Au-delà de la langue, qui ne peut pas, avec certitude, prouver l’origine d’un peuple, il existe des liens culturels qui lorsqu’ils sont mis en parallèles permettent d’identifier les racines d’un peuple.
Even if the language could prove the origins of a people, albeit without any real certainty, there are also cultural links which permit us to identify the roots of a people when we compare them.
Les Tziganes eux même n’ont jamais dit qu’ils venaient de l’Inde si ce n’est qu’après la déclaration de certains « Gadjés » (non Tziganes) qui au 20 ième siècle, ayant étudiés, étaient arrivés à établir l’origine des Tzigane en Inde.
The Gypsies themsleves have never said that they came from India, unless it was in the 20th century after certain gadjos (non-gypsies) said so because they had studied and concluded that the Gypsies originated in India.
Ce n’est que sous la colonisation Anglaise que les nomades et marginaux de l’Inde, sans distinction de races, ont été appelés « Gypsies » mais le terme spécifique Indien employé pour désigner les Tziganes est « Ashura » qui signifie Assyrien. Tous les nomades appelés Gypsies en Inde ne sont pas des Tziganes.
It was only British Colonialists that, without any racial distinction, called the nomads and people on the margins of India « Gypsies », yet the specific term the Indians themselves use for Gypsies is « Ashura », which means Assyrians ! Not all the nomads in India called Gypsies are Gypsies.
On retrouve, dans les traditions et lois Tziganes, des lois Juives de l’ancien testament venant de la « Torah » sur lesquelles il est intéressant de se pencher.
However, we can find similarities between Gypsy laws and traditions and the Jewish laws of the Old Testament which came from the Torah (Moses Law), some of which we will find interesting to consider.

LA TORAH ET LES TZIGANES
THE TORAH AND THE GYPSIES
1/ La conception d’un Dieu unique « DEL ou DEVEL » pour les Tziganes, mot dérivé de l’Indi Deva déesse Indienne et EL mot Hébreux pour Dieu rappelle que le « Deva » des Tziganes n’est autre que « EL ». Si les Tziganes avaient une origine Indienne ils seraient certainement polythéistes et adoreraient plusieurs dieux.
1/ Generally, Gypsies have a belief in « One God » (monotheism) who they call « DEL » or « DEVEL/DEBEL » , a word that could be made by combining the Indian word « DEVA » (an Indian goddess) and « EL », a Hebrew word for God. Therefore, the « DEVA » of the Gypsies is none other than « EL ». If the Gypsies had Indian origins they would certainly be polytheistic and worship many gods.
En dehors de toute religion (Catholique, Orthodoxe, Protestant, Musulmans…), les Tziganes dans le monde ont la même conception d’un Dieu unique que les Hébreux: un Dieu invisible, tout puissant, accessible qui est une personne et avec qui on peu parler et argumenter. Il n’y a pas non plus de traces d’Indouisme, de Brahmanisme, de Sikhisme, de polythéisme, dans le concept Tzigane.
No metter what religions they join (Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Muslim) Gypsies throughout the world share the same concept of one unique God as the Hebrews : an invisible God, all powerful, yet accessible – who is a person and with whom we can talk and argue. Nevertheless, there are traces of hinduism, brahmanism, Sikhism and polytheism in Gypsy thinking.
2/ Le concept et rituel de « pureté et d’impureté » « Herem » chez les Juifs, «Marimé » chez les Tziganes concernant les naissances, la virginité (tradition du « diklo » linge qui tant à prouver la virginité de la jeune fiancé), les objets souillés et leur destruction, est semblable, à tous points de vue, aux textes de Lévitique 12v2-4 Exode 22 v16. La notion du respect des tabous concernant la sexualité et la nudité est typiquement conforme à l’esprit des écritures bibliques tant chez les Juifs que chez les Tziganes.
2/ The concept and ritual of « Pure and Impure » called « Herem » by the Jews and « Marime » amongst Gypsies. This concerns birth, virtuous reputation of young brides, contaminated objects and their destruction. It is very similar, from every angle, to the texts of Leviticus 12v2-4, Exodus 22v16 and Deuteronomy 22v17.
A l’inverse, en Inde, certaines familles allant jusqu’à vendre leurs filles pour la prostitution. Dans les temples, la prostitution est considérée comme faisant partie du sacré et les images et scènes érotiques sculptés en sont le décor.
Conversely, some Indians will go as far as to sell their daughters for prostitution. In the temples, prostitution is considered part of the sacrifice and the decorations are full of erotic images, sculptures and scenes.
L’homosexualité et une chose honteuse chez les Tziganes comme chez les Hébreux (Lévitique 18v22, 29 ; 20v13 Deutéronome 23v17) mais l’homosexualité était chose commune en Inde et aussi considéré comme une troisième nature.
Homosexuality is a shameful thing amongst Gypsies as it is amongst Jews (Leviticus 18v22, 29 ; 20v13 and Deuteronomy 23v17) but homosexuality is a common thing in India, and is accepted as a third nature.
3/ Le concept de l’étranger « Gadjo » chez les Tziganes et « Goym » chez les juifs a la même signification ; mais pour un Tzigane un juif ne sera jamais un Gadjo mais un Juif et de même pour un Juif un Tzigane ne sera jamais un Goym mais un « Tsoany » (tzigane en Hébreux).
The idea of strangers as « Gadjos » amongst Gypsies and « Goyiim » (gentiles) amongst Jews has the same significance. However, the Gypsies never view a Jew as a Gadjos, but as a Jew, and for a Jew a Gypsy can never be a Goyiim for he is a « Sohani » (Gypsy in Hebrew).
4/ Lors des mariages, chez les Rrom comme chez les Juifs, la famille du garçon demandera la jeune fille et paiera la dote fixée alors qu’en Inde c’est la famille de la jeune fille qui fait les frais de la dote.
4/ When it comes to marriage, the customs are the same amongst Rroma as they are amongst the Jews : the family of the boy ask for the young girl and pay the dowry fixed. In India it is the family of the young girl who meet the expenses of the dowry – the opposite.
5/ Chez les Hébreux, Deutéronome 22v15, le signe de la virginité de la jeune fiancé sera montré lors des noces, il en est de même chez les Rrom et Gitanos. Une telle tradition ne se pratique pas chez les Indo Aryens.
5/ There are similar practices among the Hebrews, in accordance with Deuteronomy 22v15, as amongst the Rrom and the Gitanos. No such tradition is practiced among the Aryan Indians.
6/ Comme parmi le peuple Juif chez les Rrom « l’assemblée des anciens » (Sanhedrin pour les Hébreux) vont faire la « Kris » et juger les conflits parmi le peuple et décider des éventuelles pénalités ou sanctions. Exode 21v22 ; 22v9 Deut 22v16.
6/ The Jewish people have an « assembly of elders » just like the Rroma. The Hebrew Sanhedrin is like the Gypsy « Kris » to judge conficts within the people and decide final penalties or sanctions (Exodus 21v22 ; 22v9 ; Deuteronomy 22v16).
7/ On retrouve aussi de nombreux liens avec les traditions préislamiques de Perse spécialement concernant la magie et la divination. Même si les Tziganes eux même ne croient pas en ces choses. Ces pratiques existaient aussi chez les Juifs de la déportation qui furent en Perse considérés comme des devins et des mages et on y retrouve dans les textes bibliques des références malgré le fait que la Torah condamne les devins et les enchanteurs.
We can also find a number of links with pre-islamic tradition in Persia, especially concerning magic and divination. Even so the Gypsies themselves do not believe in these things. These practices also exist among the Jews of the Deportation in Persia who were thought of as seers and wise-men, and we can find biblical texts with similar references, inspite of the fact that the Torah condemns divination and sorcery.
Le « Taro » (jeux de carte utilisé par les tziganes pour tirer la bonne aventure) a été inventé par les Juifs. Les Mages d’Orient venus adorer Jésus ne seraient’ ils pas les ancêtres de ces nomades venus de Perse ?
« Tarrot » cards (a card game used by Gypsies for fortune telling) was invented by the Jews. Perhaps the wise-men of the Orient who came to worship Jesus were the ancestors of the nomads from Persia ?
On pourrait apporter d’autres éléments concernant ces parallèles frappants entre les lois Juives et Tziganes mais la place nous manque d’entrer plus en détails sur ce sujet. Plus de 70% des traditions tziganes, Rrom, Sinti, Gitanes sont proches ou semblables aux textes bibliques alors que très peu de coutumes et traditions culturelles sont proches de l’Inde.
There are many striking parallels between Jewish and Gypsy laws that we could talk about, but we have no more space to document all the details. More than 70% of Gypsy traditions amongst Rrom, Sinti and Gitanes are similar to biblical texts, and some of their clothing and cultural traditions are close to Indian.

But where do these mysterious people who cross the pages of history come from ? Are there historical traces of their presence in Mesopotamia, Persia, Egypt, and Assyria even before Christ ?
En Egypte lors de la sortie du peuple d’Israël sous la conduite de Moïse de nombreuses « nations » (groupes ethniques selon le sens Grec) accompagnèrent les Hébreux. A Goshen, dans le territoire ou séjournèrent les hébreux pendant 400 ans avant leur départ pour la terre promise. Dans le delta du Nil, (Nombre 13 v 22) il y avait une ville qui portait le nom de « Tsoan » ; racine du nom qui signifie « Tzigane » en Hébreux ? Cela ne serait t’il qu’une simple coïncidence ?
In the Israelite Exodus from Egypt under the guidance of Moses, « many nations » (Exodus 12v38) which would mean ethnic groups in the Greek sense, accompanied the Hebrews. Goshen was the land where the Hebrews stayed for the 400 years before they left for the Promised Land. Close by, in the Nile Delta (Numbers 13v22) there was a town called « Tsoan ». This could be the root of the Hebrew name for the Gypsies « Sohanis » ? Surely this could not be a simple coincidence ?
Le mot « Rrom » (homme en langue tzigane) a la même signification dans l’ancienne Egypte, ainsi que le mot « manrho » (pain) qui est proche de l’Hébreux « man-rhu » qui désignait la « manne » Exode 16 v15.
Also, the word « Rrom » (‘man’ in the Gypsy language) had the same meaning in ancient Egypt. Likewise the word « manrho » (bread) is close to the Hebrew « man-hu » which is translated as « manna » in Exodus 16v15.
Le mot tzigane Rrom « parashtuné » (vendredi) vient de l’hébreux « parashat » qui est lue dans les synagogues le jour avant le Shabbat (le vendredi soir). En langue tzigane le mot « Sabatoné » désigne le samedi qui correspond en Hébreux au « Shabbat ».
The Rrom word « parashtune » (Friday) comes from the Hebrew « parashat » which is the reading in the synagogues the day before the Sabbath (Friday evening). In the Gypsy language the word « Sabatone » means Saturday which corresponds to the Hebrew word « Shabbat » (Sabbath).

Throughout Europe, under the Nazi jack-boot, the hunting of Jews and Gypsies. Extermination in the Death Camps of over 6 million Jews and between 500,000 and 1 million gypsies.
Tout récemment, au Kosovo, avec les liquidations ethniques ou des milliers de Rrom furent exterminés.
Cela serait’ il simplement le fait du hasard ?
More recently, in Kosovo, ethnic cleansing in which thousands of Rroma were exterminated.
Could this simply be chance ?

Il y a trop de coïncidences qui nous laissent perplexes et nous poussent à la réflexion. A ce jour on ne peu affirmer que les Rrom, Sinti ou Gitans soient une branche d’Israël mais rien ne nous empêche de penser que ce peuple à été et est encore très proche des tributs dispersées d’Israël.
There are too many puzzling coincidences to make us think. Even now we can not prove that the Rrom, Sinti or Gitans are a branch of Israel, but we must accept that the Gypsies have been, and still are, strangely close to the scattered tribes of Israel.
Que dire du réveil que vivent, depuis 60 ans, les Tziganes dans le monde ? Plus d’un million de Rrom, Sinti et Gitans, Chrétiens Evangélique qui est la conception religieuse qui se rapproche le plus d’Israël.
Furthermore, we can now also consider the revival of the last 60 years, among the Gypsies worldwise. More than a million Rrom, Sinti and Gitans have become evangelical Christians, which is also the closest religion to that of Israel.
En 1948 Israël retrouvait sa terre ancestrale et était reconnu comme nation et aussi découvrait à Qumram l’un des livres les plus Messianique appelé le « cinquième évangile » qu’est le livre du prophète Esaïe.
In 1948 Israel recovered their ancestral land, and was recognised as a nation, and at Qumran they discovered one of the most Messianic books, sometimes even called the fifth gospel, which was the book of the prophet Isaiah.
A cette même période, un fait historique, les Tziganes découvrait la Bible et le Sauveur ; en 1950 le réveil commençait simultanément dans le monde entier, en France, en Finlande, en Roumanie et Bulgarie, aux USA et en Amérique du sud, un peu plus tardivement en Espagne, en Italie, en Allemagne et en Hollande, en Grèce, en Russie en Ukraine et en Asie Centrale etc.. .
It is a historical fact that, at very the same time, the Gypsies discovered the Bible and their Saviour ; in 1950 the revival started simultaneously througout the world – in France, Finland, Romania and Bulgaria, in North and South America. A little later in Spain, Italy, Germany and Holland, Greece, Russia, Ukraine and in central Asia.
Cette découverte de la Bible à apporté le salut à ce peuple mais aussi semble avoir réveillé dans leur subconscient des racines ancestrales enfouies depuis des siècles et les rapproches encore davantage du peuple d’Israël.
This recent re- discovery of the Bible has provided a church especially for these people, but also seems to have stirred an awakening in their subconscious – their ancestral roots, that were buried for centuries, have been drawing them closer and closer to the people of Israel once again, perhaps this time for longer.

My name is janey and my husbands name is edward taylor we have five children we live a good life and have good friends we have travelled the world realy.
In 1989 we pulled to scotland a place called stonyburn there was a convention about five miles away.
Edwards brother pulled on and he asked if we would too.
I said no way i'm pulling on there with all them cristians because i used to love to go out and have a few drinks and a good time as i thought then
Edward would go to the pub and play cards i hated edward playing cards but what could i do.
A few days later we pulled on the convention with my sister and i thank god we did.
Thank god that week me and my husband gave our lifes to jesus which means we became born again cristians .
The first thing god took out of edwards life was gambling.
A few years later we moved to wigan and on valintines night 1997 my two sons were in a car accident my oldest son edward died he was 17.
I thank god my son edward was a born again cristian because the bible says to be absent from the body is present with the lord and we will see him again.
We have got very good family who helped with everything but i know that god had his hand upon us al.
A few years later the lord blessed us with a little house in middlewich and a good church in sandbach.
In 2000 we went to france with family and my husband edward took very bad pains in his stomach i can remember listening to wally singing on a tape in the car (send your power down to me) and i prayed for god to help us.
And thank god we got home safe back to england.
We went straight to the doctors with edward they done some tests but they realy couldent find nothing wrong with him he was in and out of hospital for ten weeks he was fading away in front of my eyes and then they done a MMR scan and a CT scan.
They said it was a cyst as big as a football inside his stomach so he had a very big operation and thank god he felt better.
Six weeks went by and my son jamesdean said some doctor was on the phone and wanted to see my dad but he never got the phone number.
So i rang around and finely got the number it was cristies hospital in manchester we went to see the doctor and he said the operation was successfull but with any cancer he will need chemotherpy.
I know god had his hand on us because that was the first time we herd cancer edward had six months chemotherpy and he is lovely now.
I thank god he has given me and my husband and children a hope, peace and strenth for the future and a life worth living.

EVANGELIZATION CAMPAIGN IN UKRAINE

The Month of June has been the subject matter of great blessings. The mighty move of the Holy Spirit came down and we rejoiced with our Ukrainian Gypsy brothers.
In the town of Ouzgorod, not far from the Hungarian and Slovakian borders, we did for the first time a mission under the big tent which was loan to us graciously.
Over 500 persons gathered together every evening and many Gypsies accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. In the morning all the preachers of the region were present for the Bible studies. We closed our mission with a baptismal service.
All the Gypsy preachers of Russia, Moldavia and of all Ukraine took part at this first convention.

In Ukraine there are over 800 000 Gypsies. In the town of Odessa, on the seaside of the Black Sea, Moslems Gypsies have accepted the Lord and attended the meetings. Many Gypsies are converted in the many Pentecostal churches and we thank the pastors who receive them fraternally in the Lord. The revival is on and we are encouraged to see the lives changed and this large group of people coming to Jesus Christ.

DEDICATION OF TULA’S CHURCH IN RUSSIA
As we have mentioned in our previous newsletters, we have rebuilt the church that was burnt down. Our heart’s desire is to thank you all who have helped us and participated in the rebuilding of this church. The works are now finished and we had the joy to organize the first meetings. We need urgently 3500 $ for the heather system before winter for the church In Tula. If you wish to help us precise “for Tula church”.

In Moscow, we had the three years anniversary of the foundation of our Life and Light church. It was a great encouragement for Valodia, our leader pastor and also a time for new persons to come and hear the Gospel.
We are only at the beginning. In many towns where nearly 3 million Gypsies live, there is still a great need to reach them with the Gospel and win them to Jesus-Christ before His glorious return.
In Central Asia,(Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Uzbekistan). The brothers continue to evangelize and we are encouraged with the good news we receive from Tashkent, Almaty, etc..

ROMANIA
We were able to send the children of the home to spend several days of relaxation in the countryside. It was very benefic for them. It is soon the beginning of the school in Romania and for the little ones a discovery of the school world.
We thank you all for your faithfulness in the support of our children in Tirgu Mures. We will give you more information about Romania in our next newsletter.

Life & Light Convention 2008

Kenilworth

Possibly the best convention for years. It was very peaceful, so much so that there was hardly any need for security and the tent men went to bed at 11 o'clock instead of standing vigil until 3. However, whilst peace from the unsaved on the field is a matter for celebration, what really mattered was the fact that many people were saved and God's work was done with a whole hearted devotion by all on the field. SAY NOT I AM A YOUTH!

A Word for my Gypsy Friends.
Those were the words, half rebuke, half encouragement, which God spoke to Jeremiah as He called him to the Prophetic ministry. God had greeted Jeremiah with the words. “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee. And I ordained (marked out) thee a Prophet unto the nations.

Jeremiah had complained, “Ah! Lord God, behold I cannot speak for I am a youth.” So God continued, saying, “say not I am a youth; for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces, for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.”

Was that only spoken to Jeremiah or was it spoken to us today as well? I suggest it is spoken to anyone who realises that he or she has a call from God to teach and to preach among this generation and among all nations today. Many of the Gypsy folk I know tell me about the invitations to the Great Supper. They say how after the original guests refuse to come Gods invitation goes out to all and, last of all, the invitation is to those in, “the highways and hedges”. And I agree with them that this is a remarkable fulfillment in the revival among the Roma people since 1950 and since 1980 in Engalnd.

The dwellers in the city are turning their backs on the Gospel and they despise and they abuse those who do not. God’s dear people the world over are being persecuted. The first century is taking place all over again. Even in Britain, once the “mother of the free” two men are arrested for giving our Christian tracts with the pretence that they are stirring up ‘religious ;hatred’. Who is it that is full of religious hatred, not the humble saints of God that is for sure.

I do not believe that, once having accepted God’s offer we are to stand still. From the lanes and the hedgerows you come, from the conurbations others of us. Do we, Rom and Gauja, sit back to enjoy our blessings, feeding on the Bread of Life? Not yet are we actually in the place of blessing, of eternal happiness and fullness of joy. Not yet, though He is with us, are we ‘with Christ’.

Like resistance fighters behind the enemy lines we are left by our Captain behind the lines of the enemy and we are to do all in the power God gives us to subvert and to challenge the kingdom of darkness. We have a commission to go.

That commission is common to all of us, Rom and Gauja, Gauja and Rom. As brothers and sisters we shall soon sit down in the Kingdom. But there is something very special about the call of the people of the hedgerows and of the highways and byways. Your traditional travelling life has gone. Especially has it gone where technology and urban sprawl chokes the roads and makes the drom a place of danger instead of a place of refuge as it once was.

Let us never use words like ‘progress’ and ‘advances’ when we talk about today’s social and technological culture. It is not progress we see, my brothers and sisters, it is not an advance into an age of gentle goodness and intellectual light. Rather we see an increasingly rapid descent into an abyss of lust, cruelty and folly on a vaster scale than has ever been seen before. Like lemmings the population of this world rush determinedly towards the cliff edge of Satanic domination from which the world will only be released by the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We all know it, but there is confusion concerning what we do about it.

Esther was told that she had come to her privileged position, “for such a time as this”. (Esther 4:13-14) This is my point, God has principles by which he acts and it seems to me that not only is He calling you but He is also calling you for a special task. I am sure many of you see it but I write this to encourage you in the great, difficult and arduous task God has called you to.

Writing to the Corinthians Paul states those principles when it comes to witnessing. The principles are seem in practice in the Book of Judges for instance. In a time of anarchy when “everyman does that which is right in his own eyes,” God called certain people to drive off their enemies and to restore the people to their God. There was Ehud, a double agent and murderer. Shamgar fought his enemies and God’s enemies with his ox-goad. Samson was as failed Nazarite who could not control his own lusts yet who brought down the idol temple upon the heads of the enemies of the people of God. Then there was Gideon, a man so fearful that he was threshing wheat in a wine press so as not to be seen. God gave him courage and military skill.

We are oppressed by the devil and God is calling a people who have, in the words of the Patrin website, have been hunted, murdered, enslaved and persecuted. Paul points out how God chooses such people as His special representatives. Thing about what he writes:

“For you see your calling brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. And God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are. That no flesh should glory in His presence.” (1Corinthians 1:26-29)

You see the point. The world still speaks against the Rom and marginalises you. Yet your moral standards are far higher than those generally found in the gauja world. You are a rebuke to that world which is already under the judgement of God. You have a better family life and a better attitude to children, women are treated with respect among you as are the elderly. What is the condition of women, of the elderly and the vulnerable in the gauja world? You can draw your own conclusions.

Your missionaries are already travelling across the world and into Asia. You are a traveling people and the world has stopped you traveling and wants you to settle down. And yet God has turned these things onto their heads and, by car, by train, by ship and by aeroplane your people can travel the world bringing comfort and the Gospel of Salvation not only to your own but to the gaujas as well and, in so doing you are a tremendous encouragement to those of us gaujas who also try to take the Gospel to our own people.

“Say not I am a youth,” God is with you and His power and His Spirit are in you. For what it is worth the prayers and good wishes of some of us are also with you and we shall encourage you and exhort you and so much the more as we, “see the day approaching”. May God bless you all, my brothers.

Doncaster Mission

"The Rain Came Down, and the Mud Came Up!" I think that is how the song about Noah goes. Regardless, we were greatly blessed and a few people were saved. I personally felt that God also did an unseen work because I felt that he spoke to me about the seeds that were sown. Quite a number of people came to the tent that have hardened their hearts against the Gospel, and it seemed that God brought them to my attention as if to say that whilst it was good to be encouraged by the visible results (folks getting saved) it was better to be encouraged by the fact that there were people who heard the gospel because they would get saved at a later date.

The French came (Jean Huret, Mario & Pierre) which was excellent. They seemed to have a good time. We were also blessed by the Bible Club who taught the children - see the videos on youtube (follow the link on the left of your screen).

Je m'appelle Jean Huret. Je suis ne dans une famille chretienne en France. Mes parents ont decide d'elever leurs enfants dans la connaissance de l'evangile. Tres jeune j'etais en contact avec les reunions chretiennes, est souvant mon coeur etait touche par l'esprit de Dieu. Mais quand j'etais a l'ecole avec les jeunes etudients du college j'ai eu l'occasion de partager la vie que la monde nous offre et je me suis engage sur le chemin du peche, qui nous eloigne de Dieu. Mais je n'avais pas la paix du coeur dans cette vie du monde. Et souvant j'avais la crainte de la mort, et de l'eternite. Et le soir quand j'allais me couche je ne dormais pas tranquille. Je savais que mon ame n'etait pas en regle avec Dieu et j'avais conscience que j'etais perdu pour l'eternite loin de Dieu.

A l'age de seize ans en assistant a une reunion evangelique mon coeur a ete touche a nouveau par l'esprit de Dieu. Et au cours de cette reunion j'ai pris la decision d'accepte Jesus pour mon sauveur personel. Je me suis mis a genoux devant l'estrade et j'ai demande pardon au Seigneur pour mes peches. Je me suis humilie devant Dieu et Dieu a vue la sincerite de mon coeur, et j'ai immediatement ressenti un fardeau sortir de moi, et lors que je me sius releve, pardone par le Siegneur, libere de mes peches, j'etais devenu un homme nouveau, ne de l'esprit, un authentique chretien.

Quelques mois plus tard je me suis fait baptise par immersion, conformement aux saintes ecritures. Il y a maintenant cinquante ans que je marche dans cette nouvelle vie chretienne, et chaque jour le seigneur m'aide aller plus loin dans cette voie, qui nous menne vers la demeure celeste. Il y a quarante quatre ans que je sers le Seigneur dans la ministere de pasteur, dans la mission evangelique tzigane Vie et Lumiere, et mon desire c'est de continuer jusqu'a la fin de mes jours quand Dieu le voudra.

How I got saved, was just as I was going to my sister Frances and my brother in law Bob to be with them after my nephews died in the crash at Newark. We called on the Doncaster mission. When we got there my other sister Caroline wasn't in, so Tony Webster (preacher) come to me witnessing and said to me "Are you a Christian yet Ernie?" I said "No, I'm not interested." So later on I was talking to some other Christians, Peter Evans, who asked if I was going into the tent, but I said "No". Then Johnny & Caroline came back and they asked me, "Are you going into the tent" so I stood right at the back of the tent. The preacher was Bernard. After he preached they asked people to come to the front and I sort of put God to the test by saying "If you're real, God, tell my wife to go to the front. If you save her that will be good enough for me." Just as I said that, she went down to the front and give her life to the Lord. Then the meeting finished, and then I was talking to a man called Perry Ayres, who I've known all my life, and he started witnessing to me. He said "Why don't you want to be a Christian?" I told him I was very angry for losing my nephews, plus that as a Christian you can't do this that and the other (meaning drink and that). He told me that that if you want to drink you can have a drink, and when the Lord is good and ready he will take it away from you. The words that he spoke to me was the words that I wanted to hear, and that night I gave my life to the Lord. That night I went to the public to see Bob & Frances, but little did I know that the Lord had took the drink out of my life. That night I only had 2 pints and it took me all night to drink them. That was on the Saturday. The following week, as new Christians, we went to church on the Friday.When the church finished I went to the off-licence, and I bought 10 cans of beers which was a regular thing for me. It took all night to drink 2 cans. My wife said to me "Whats up with you? Why can't you drink these cans?" I told her to put them in the fridge for another night. The following Friday come and she asked me "What are you doing with the cans of beer?" And I said "I don't need them any more, chuck them in the bin!" That was the last time I ever drunk - 4 years ago. Little did I know that the Lord had delivered me straightaway when I gave my life to him.

Since I gave my life to the Lord, he has give me so much peace and happiness. For whoever is reading this testimony: the Lord can do so much for you like he's done for me, so just give him a chance. As you go on as a Christian life can still be hard, but you've got someone to turn to now: the Lord Jesus. He will help you through your trials and strengthen you.

Robert Davy Harker's testimony

God bless from Robert Davy Harker. 2 years ago this August on Cambridge Convention (Light & Life) my wife and I had the biggest wake up in my Christianity. While we was on Cambridge I was keeping going back to the doctors in Darlington with a sore throat and wheeziness. My wife kept telling me to go to the doctor's, but me being the person I am, I wouldn't go to the doctors with the cough and the wheeziness on my chest, but kept saying I would be alright because my mother had always suffered with pleurisy and pneumonia. After listening to my wife I plucked up the courage to go. They sent me for to have the camera put down my throat. When we went into the hospital I thought I could be awake, but, no, they said I had to be asleep so that they could put this camera down. I kept telling my wife that everything is fine, and while they told me I had to be put to sleep and I remember talking to the doctor and the doctors asking me if I had any children, and after that I fell into a deep sleep. I can remember waking up in a big room dazed with my wife Victoria crying beside me. I said "Why are you crying, everything is alright", and I looked her in the face but she couldn't talk to me. I kept saying "Whats wrong - is everything OK?" When she finally picked up the courage to tell me that I had a tumour on my right hand lung. I didn't understand the big fancy words 'tumours' -what does that mean? She said "Robert Davy, they said you've got cancer." I said "How do you know?" She said "The man who did the camera said there was a tumour there." At that time the first thing that came into my mind was the promise from the Lord: "Thy will be done". We had to wait 7 days to see the doctor - the longest 7 days of my life. We never talked on the way home. I couldn't even look at the children. I didn't know what to say. The time came when I had to see the doctor. The doctor took us into a room in the hospital, and he told me very plainly that I had a cancerous tumour on my right hand lung called a carcenoid. I started to think to myself: "Lord, you have delivered me from cigarettes 15 years ago. Now why this?" But something came into my mind: does not bad things happen to good people? It was only then that I really had to put my faith into practice. God gave me such a peace at that time and I kept telling Victoria that the Lord will do what is right - let his will be done. They told me that after the operation that I would need keimo therapy and radio therapy to make sure it was all cleared up. Thank God today that I did not need any keimo therapy, I did not need any radio therapy - the operation was completely successful. And they have told me now they are going to monitor me for 5 years to make sure I am OK. But that is not the only time God gave me my life back: in 1988 God saved me and, no matter what, I had a peace in my heart knowing that God is in control and he will do what is right. I just thank God today for all the brothers and sisters prayers and the love and support. Today maybe there might be crises in your life. Take hold that God is in control and he will do what is right. God bless, and all our love, from Robert Davy and Victoria and family.

I gave me heart in 1994 10th july in Shareshill near Wolverhampton. I walked with the Lord for 6 months. I got baptised. Some trouble came along and I knew it was from the enemy. Instead of having wisdom, I took it into me own hands. I left Wolverhampton, I moved away, down-country. I thought I could do it on my own strength. Met up with a boy, started working together, got into drugs, drinking, stealing, robbing, overcharging for work. I couldn't get off the drugs -I was dependant. I was drinking an aweful lot - I had to have drink everyday. I was rowing and fighting - I had a vile mouth. I had no love in me heart, only hate. I had no respect for anybody, none for my family. I was selfish. It was all about me. This went on for 10 years. I was really working for the Devil. But for that 10 years I was with my work-partner, I kept speaking about the Lord -every now and then, and Billy-Jo said "Why do you keep speaking about the Lord - have you gone mad?" He did not understand. And one day the Lord stopped me in me tracks and said "Tom! I've been calling you for 10 years. I've never left you. You should have been killed, stabbed, shot. You should have been in prison many times, but I got you out because I have a plan for you." And he said "Today Tom, if anything should happen to you and you should stand and face me, would you be right with me?" and I answered "No Lord." And he really spoke to my heart. And from that momnent there was a change in my life and I started going back to church with me wife.
Now he's took away the swearing. He's took away the smoking and drugs. He took away the drink from my life completely. He's restored me with love, peace, hope for the future. He's gave me a precious gift of being an ambassador for God, telling people about my Lord and Saviour. I have brought 30 peaple, in 12 months, to the Lord. My life is completely changed for the best. Whoever reads this message, let me tell you something. If you came to me and said that you would give me a million pound to go back to where you was I would say to you take your million pound and leave because there is nothing in this world what can compare the peace what Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour gives to me daily. Because only the Blood of Jesus could wash me clean. If you do not know Jesus come and taste - the Lord is good and he can make a difference in your life because he loves you and he cares for you. So let God care for you - let him love you and take hold of you today. If he made a difference in my life he can make a difference in yours. God bless.

When I was a young boy growing up, about 7, me and me brother lost me Dad to cancer. Got to a teenager, found meself with a chip on me shoulder, and a problem with life. Tried drinking, and when I tried it I drunk a lot. Tried drugs and when I tried them I drugged a lot. I used to go off to raves three days at a time, get meself wrecked. I wasn't a nasty person, but I wasn't happy. When I was about 15 me Mam got saved, and I used to take her to church sometimes - I was driving at 15 - but most times I would hang about outside chatting with the boys. It started raining one time, so I went into the church and listened to the word and it was like the man was talking direct to me, and it was like I wanted to cry. I walked out the church, but a year later I made a decision to follow the Lord, but it was a head decision, so it never lasted long - probably a week or so. Then I went doing my old thing with the drugs until I was 18 and I got married. Then I went to the church again and give my life to the Lord and the Lord started moving in my life, started changing me. I packed up swearing, drinking, smoking - everything all at once. The thing I was looking for all them years in all them drugs and parties and things, found what I was looking for - happiness in Jesus Christ. Thats about it really. I've been saved about 4 years now, following the Lord properly. My wifes saved, and all me children go to church. and I'm going abroad to the Ukraine doing missionary work.
If anyone is reading this and they don't know Jesus get to know him -accept him into your life.

I got saved when I was getting married and I didn't know my in-laws. I knew they were Christians. So as a talking point I said I'd become a Christian, but there was no real change in my life. I made a decision, but God makes conversions. I had many problems. Me and my wife went through very hard times. Things were not looking good, but when there was nowhere else I could look, Jesus made the conversion. Now I know I'm not perfect, and I'm not what I could be, but I thank God I'm not what I was. Now we are attending Willenhall Church (since 2001). I've recently been accepted as a minister and things are looking good. My wife has been a Christian for a long time. She is behind me and the Lord is using the both of us for the building of his kingdom.

The church in Willenhall is growing. Recently, within the last 18 months, we've had 26 new converts, attending regular. A lot of people my sort of age like Pacer Price. Recently they've been giving testimonies and leading meetings. And now some are going to the Ukraine with us on missionary work. Our church is being blessed. We've not been evangelising regular but the people are just coming!

my wife jane and I have been saved for eighteen years, we were saved in a gospel hall in Aberdeen, we moved to fife 12 years ago, we decided to go to a mission in Glenrothes just for a look at what was going on, we went into the tent for the first time ever at a travellers mission & herd the gospel preached, from that night on our lives changed, we went the next night and the next, we new that something was missing in our lives, and that it was a relationship with the lord Jesus, we both decided to rededicate our lives back to the Lord, so we started to go to all the meetings that were on ,we went to montrose, edinburgh, & glasgow, kinlassie was the fife church at that time, kinlassie church was very badly run down, so we prayed for another church, and about this time I was asked to preach a gospel message, about five miles away a church in cowdenbeath had lost there pastor & was praying for someone to come and take over there church, God heard there prayers and ours and put us together, NOW we have a lovely church, we prayed for seats and as we prayed a knock came on the door, a man asked if we wanted one hundred seats as the school was closing down, God provided what we needed for the music, and even a carpet was given as a gift.we have been so blessed , seeing many get saved and many baptisms, people getting healings, & people growing in the Lord.the people that had the church decided to sell it, we were asked to put in a bid, they wanted offers over £28,000, after prayer we offered £10,000.they said we were wasting there time, they asked again to put a bid in , we prayed and said we were offering £10,000, they said it would be knocked down for a building plot for flats, at the convention they phoned me again, just as I was about to go forward as a trainee, they asked me to put a higher bid in, I prayed and said that God had laid it on my heart to say £10,000, they said you wont get it hughie, after a short time they phoned me back and said I dont no how you got it but you have, I said I no how we got it , we serve a prayer answering God. AMEN!we now have a friday night prayer meeting , sunday morning, sunday night gospel, tuesday night mans meeting, thursday eleven oclock womans prayer meeting,youth meetings, sunday school, we have had many guests from abroad, Ham parker, Billy mckenzie, John keith, Henry Hicks & all there wifes & children, we have had the french brothers and there wifes, the dutch brothers and there wifes, ludvic karolson. and many times brothers from england, God bless them all for there servis to the Lord.at this time there are men stepping out in the name of Jesus, some preaching, some leading the music, some teaching the youth,Glory to God. I have now been pastor of the church for six years, the work is being blessed, souls are still being saved.
For we are His workmanship,created in Christ Jesus for good works,which God prepared beforhand,that we should walk in them.ephesians 2:10

My name is Sharon Varey.

I come from Newton-Le-Willows church (Life & Light UK). It is a blessing for me to share my testimony with you all. I first received Christ as my personal saviour on Newark Convention. I was 13 at the time and back then not many of my family were saved, and I did not understand what being a Christian was really all about. I just gave my heart and believed God died for me, but I never had a personal relationship with God. It was only later on, as a teenager, that I learned more about God. I started going to the meetings and listening to the Word, and I thought I had a walk with the Lord, but I served God in my way. At 22 I got baptised in our church, but not long after I went through a bad patch and going to church became a distant memory for me. Me and my sister had fallen out, and we stopped speaking for years, and from that day my whole life changed. I was broken-hearted and full of anger and pain and my heart became hard towards God and people. I was broken, and I didn't see good in anyone. Little did I know I had a lot more hard times ahead of me.

It was on the 13th of April 2003 when God answered my sister Frances prayers. She had been praying for us to speak again and on that day we did. Praise God.

A year had passed and it was on the 22nd May 2004 that I rang my sister-in-law Ali to tell her I was coming down to see her, but 10 minutes later I looked up to see Ali and Ernie coming to mine. Their faces were white and I could tell something was wrong. They told us that early that morning my two nephews John and Bob were killed in a car accident and the blow of losing my nephews broke my heart even more. My whole family was heartbroke, and I didn't know who to comfort everyone was hurting so much. We had the funeral for the boys, and, on the Sunday after, we went back to the church where John had his service. My sister wanted to thank everyone and by the end of that service me and my family rededicated our lives back to God.

2 years had passed and we all still continued going to church, but by then my Dad wasn't too good in himself. I knew my Dad was a diabetic and he had heart problems. He was a poorly man who was constantly back and forth in hospital and it hurt me to watch him suffer, but he always managed to keep smiling. It was New Year of 2006 when the doctors had told my mam that she needed to tell us my Dad had cancer, but by that time we had found out he already had cancer for two years. He didn't want us to know and me mam respected his wishes by not telling us. He thought we were heartbroke enough over the boys and the shock of losing his grandsons brought the cancer on him, and he wanted to keep things secret. My Dad knew God as his personal saviour, and on the 22nd of March my Dad went home to be with the Lord.

I thank God for all the special memories I have of my Dad and my nephews. I carry them memories close to my heart and knowing my loved ones are safe with Jesus keeps me going on.

It took me 8 years to return back to God, but today my walk and commitment to God are a lot different from back then. And by his Holy Spirit leading and guiding me I'm changing in Jesus every day. I've found hope and strength from the Lord. He's my father and also my best friend. And I pray that whoever reads my testimony that you'll think twice before walking away from God, because he is the only one who can carry you through your hard times and troubles. he's our forever present help anytime you call on him.
